Young theatergoers who attend this adaptation of Kimberly Foster’s award-winning picture book do more than just watch. At the end, they help rescue the main character when her magic spells transform her into a dolphin and her stuffed animals into live critters. The songs, composed by John Fleming, emphasize the importance of cooperation and acceptance of others for who they are. Even kids who aren’t fans of musicals are apt to find the costumes (and set) hilarious. Ages 2 to 8.
